Gelert is the story of a dog who saves his master's baby from a wolf while he is gone but when the master comes home, he only sees Gelert covered in blood and kills him, thinking Gelert killed the baby. I read this story when I was little and it has always stuck with me, so I decided to research it some more.
Something similar happens to the Tramp, he saves Lady's master's baby from the rat but Aunt Sarah thinks he knocked the cradle over and sends him off to the pound. I didn't realize this story was so similar, but I loved Lady and the Tramp as a kid so I decided to click on the article.
One of the dogs in Lady and the Tramp is a Bulldog, and I have always thought they are cute dogs. I found it interesting that they would hold on to bull's muzzles with such ferocity. It is a sad tradition though, as many of them would die.
I used to live in England my freshman year, and we went to Winston's mansion. I remembered him being called the bulldog, so I was not surprised when I saw his name come up. I have always been interested in learning about World War II, and Churchill was such an important player I couldn't resist reading more about him.
